This internationally renowned museum provides a splendid setting to present over 5000 heritage works, showcasing exceptional archaeological and artistic value, across more than 3000 m² (of the 9000 m² available).
These works invite a unique historical experience through 25 centuries of history, thanks to immersive museography (65 multimedia devices).

Musée de la Romanité : More than a Museum, a Place of Life…
A true living space with its restaurant, La Table du 2, and its Mediterranean garden.
This 3,500 m² public green space is organized into three layers corresponding to the major periods (Gallic, Roman, and Medieval) of the museographic journey.
For each level, the trees, shrubs, and perennial plants have been chosen based on their time of introduction, influenced by exchanges, influences, and occupations.
Finally, the green rooftop (roof-top) is the high point of the ascent. It completes the visit by offering a belvedere with a 360° view of Nîmes, with the Arena prominently in the foreground.

2024 Exhibition ‘Achilles and the Trojan War’ from April 26, 2024, to January 5, 2025.
Musée de la Romanité in Nîmes will honor Achilles, the legendary hero of Greek mythology, with its new exhibition starting in spring 2024.
This fascinating exhibition on the myth of Achilles traces the hero’s journey from his birth to his death, including his participation in the Trojan War.
It features a rich collection of works from the museum, including a monumental mosaic of over 30 m² depicting the episode of Achilles at Skyros, which has never been displayed in the collections since its restoration in 2010.
The immersive exhibition allows visitors to delve into the world of Achilles and discover the different facets of this complex and fascinating hero.
